My girlfriend and I contacted Tawil & Team about a listing that was pet friendly. We simply stated we were relocating to New York City with our 3 huskies in which one is an emotional support dog and needed help finding a pet friendly place.
Nick Tawil, CEO/Co-Founder, responded to us with the most unprofessional and incredibly rude response we ever received from a broker.
Here is what we sent him. “My boyfriend and I are moving from San Diego with our three huskies. We love your listing! I know three huskies sounds scary but they are older dogs (4, 5, and 6), house trained, and well behaved. One of the dogs is an emotional support dog as well.
We’ve lived in apartments the past two years so they are used to small spaces. They mostly sleep all day and I work mostly from home. I have a pet resume and references, if you are interested I can send that over.
I will be in town Friday- Sunday morning and would love to meet with you! Look forward to hearing from you! ”
His response to us is quoted below. “Thanks, but this is my job. I’m not here to meet people and make friends. I’m here to rent this apartment.”
“Yes. I’m responding to your message where you told me that you wanted to meet me and gave me a sob story about your dogs.
That’s not how you talk to a business professional. I’m here to help people, but you are indicating to me that you do not want to be helped.
You want to manipulate my emotions and put my client in a garbage position. If you call a doctor and said that to them, you would get the exact same response.
I would recommend my client does not rent the apartment to you. Let’s forget about the showing.”
Business professional is not a term I would use to describe our interaction with Nick. You be the judge of his response.
