Horror show. We consulted with this boyfriend/girlfriend team (the owner is the BF, not sure if they’re still together) during the time we were looking to purchase our first home.
The seller was willing to offer a “rent to own” deal and Sold on Sunday told us that they would need $10k as soon as possible to ensure this transaction.
We made an offer on the home (also ready to write a check for $10k) after numerous appointments and conversations.
Come to find out that this realtor was illegally working with two prospective buyers at the same time. Us and another couple out of Boston.
We made an offer on the home and never heard back from this scumbag because the other buyers wound up closing the deal.
Thank God we never gave them the $10k they were asking for.
Important to note: the realtor allowed my husband and a friend to climb a ladder and go on the roof to take a look at its condition, which is also illegal.
She also told us that the fireplace was in working order.
Long story short, we wound up becoming friends with our rivals. They purchased the home and were told it would be $5k to fix the fireplace that was supposedly “in working order”.
They also pulled some scumbag crap with the FHA and wound up hiding the fact that there was lead paint and other issues (septic, roof, etc).
So glad we didn’t wind up getting conned by this realtor. Stay far, far away. Don’t buy their “we are a realtor for the people” con.
That whole spiel about not wanting the common man to get screwed over by the realty machine.
Sold on Sunday is everything that’s wrong with greedy real estate sketch bags.
