I recently signed a lease and moved into a property Fulton Grace Realty managed property at 3900 Pine Grove in Lakeview. We are expecting a new addition to the family and needed more space so I jumped on what looked to be a great deal on a rental.
The property manager and Brad and association contact were Leilani were very diligent in collecting fees and getting documents signed but thats where their diligence ended. In my 30 years of renting and owning properties, this has been the worst experience with Fulton Grace Realty by far to date!
During the quick walkthrough we noted several things that needed to be fixed and since we werent moving in for a couple weeks and the previous lessee had just moved out, we unfortunately assumed these minor repairs would be taken care of before move in.This was not the case.
Not only were those issues not taken care of, but me found approximately 13 more (and counting) upon movong in.The issues range from the door locks not working, the diswaher overflowing, the closet door and towel bar in bathroom falling off with minimal contact.
The in unit laundry doesn’t work. There was a large cockroach crawling across the bedroom floor to greet us on move in date. Areas on the walls that were repaired but not painted. Slow draining in the tub nathroom and kitchen sink. The garbage disposal not working…I think you see the trend here and we moved in yesterday!
Ive contacted Brad the senior property manager multiple times about when their “handyman” can come make repairs, especially to the lock and he can not provide a date that anyone will be available to fix anything.
In hindsight we should have checked more thoroughly but our realtor had told us that FG was a great property management company. Needless to say, I feel like we were tricked into sinking 4k into a barely habitable space.
RENTER BEWARE. With all of the choices in the area, I wouldn’t recommend FG to my worst enemy.Stay tuned for updates. Hopefully theres a happy ending to this nightmare.
