DON’T rent through Doyle Real Estate. I’m finishing up my lease in one of their apartments, and I only wish I could’ve gotten out of my lease sooner.
They have affordable rentals in locations like Beacon Hill and Back Bay, but how they manage their properties is another story.
Common areas were rarely kept clean. The front yard was the equivalent of 10-foot square ashtray.
If they need access to your apartment to do repairs, it’s unlikely you’ll get any advance notice of this and more likely they will just enter your place when you’re not at home without your consent, do their repairs, and leave your place a mess.
The management company isn’t particularly responsive to tenant requests.
We hadnumerous incidents where the (broken) fire alarm in the building went off at 3 am, and each time it took the management company well over an hour to get it shut off.
I complained a few times about late night noise and parties in the building, but nothing was ever done about it, and the beer cans and red cups remained in the hallways and the yard.
Overall, I think this company is more concerned with collecting on their laundry list of “penalty” fees included in their lease agreements rather than being decent landlords.
While their rents may be quite inexpensive, I would not recommend to anyone to rent from Doyle Real Estate.
