Difficult to know where to begin… Rented an apt for a year and a half from Jerry Kampler. Not a good experience.
Guy basically threatened me in an email right from the jump, as part of his response to reasonable questions about the awful terms of his lease agreement.
It gave him the right to collect strange fees, certain terms contradicted others, and it basically said tenants had to just deal with loud all-night parties in the building (which they did virtually nothing to curtail).
Easily the worst lease I’d ever seen. It was abundantly clear he did not want you reading the conditions of the lease thoroughly, and questions about the lease were typically ignored or the responses were so curt and broad as to be useless. After the third go-round we moved out.
In addition, during our occupancy they turned the building into a construction site without ever alerting residents or providing any information about the work.
Guys in unmarked vans coming in and out 7 days a week. Loud, vibrating drilling and hammering was a permanent fixture for 10 hrs a day for nearly a year.
Anytime I took a weekday off (or had a snow day) the apt was practically uninhabitable due to the noise and vibration.
On top of all this, they didn’t fix broken flooring that they said they would and there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom.
That seems unacceptable for, especially given the rent they charge. When we inquired about having one put in we were quoted $400. Bottom line: avoid.
