I decided to sell my house. I spoke with different brokers, Erin Donlan was one of them. After lengthy discussions, and a lot of suggestions from our end, we finally decided to opt for Erin. I still regret the second when I made that decision. She told us about different sort of things and convinced us that she would be taking diligent care of the deal.
There was nothing that was done as per the promises she made. At first, she listed our house after 45 days of our first conversation which was supposed to happen in next 15 days of our meeting. We kept calling her after we paid the advance amount and she ignored our calls. We could reach her directly, after 35 days of the first meeting. Still, it took 10 more days for her to list our house on the web.
When we saw our house on the real estate listing, we were not able to believe the mess she had already put us into. The pictures were ugly. Our house is a great place and we have kept it in a great condition. But, it looked completely different in the pictures. Erin proposed that she would bring a photographer to click pictures of the house. However, she clicked few with her mobile and posted those on the internet.
On top of that, the price that we negotiated about our house was not listed correctly. The price that was listed was too less than the agreed price. I did not understand what made her do that. Even if it was a mistake from her end, it costed a lot from us and that was not acceptable from an employee of a reputed firm.
When we called her to ask about the mistakes, she ignored the calls again. We wondered about the different listings where she promised to list our house, and found out that it was not done either. She had not advertised our house as she said she would. It was hardly listed at one or more places.
My wife and I got furious and called the company. Century 21 affirmed that there had been few more complaints about her and suggested that they would consider the matter by asking her to resign. So, we calmed for some time.
In the meantime, we wrote a critical review about Erin on their website which was taken off the next day itself. She was also not removed from her responsibilities. If this is how they have maintained great reviews on their website, then its better they take off those great reviews as well. It is not going to help customers in finding the complete truth about the company and its employees.
